The core component of the Muon g-2 experiment is a 50-foot-wide superconducting electromagnet. When muons orbit around the storage ring at nearly the speed of light, they interact with the magnetic field and the quantum fields of the vacuum. Scientists will use the experiment to search for hidden particles and forces.
